it is the 23rd week this weekend for the 2014/2015 zone 3 Division one league and the boys from Tudu are 7th on the league log, a position the entire family of the club are not happy with considering the immense football talents at their disposal.
The officiating of games this season has been very poor and to some extent had contributed to the abysmal performance of the club.
The material quality in terms of player performance week in week out has been impressive. it will therefore come as no surprise to anyone who has been following the club this season if come the end of the season there is a mass clamor for these players by clubs both home and abroad.
In defense they have the most outstanding performer in the whole league. his name is Emmanuel Eli Keke. His height 6ft 1 inc. He plays with both feet which makes it very easy for him to come out tops in one v one situations. very good in the air and joins the attack from defense with ease when the need be. His ability to give very incisive passes from defense to midfield is second to none and in fact coupled with his other attributes makes him a complete footballer. Most of the premier league club managers who have been able to see him play this season have requested for his services for next season. Charles Kobinah Akunnor, the head coach of Dreams FC is even surprised he was not included in the national u-20 team which represented Ghana at the just ended world cup in New Zealand.
Eli Keke will be 20 on the 10th of October having been born on in 1995.
A second player of note, also a defender is Emmanuel Nkansah, a 1996 born who plays at the right back as well as midfield. His strong point as a right back is his ability to join attack from defense and when he does his final cross is always inch perfect. When he has the ball at his feet, it is very difficult to lose it to an opponent. In my personal appraisal of the team so far, he passes as the player of the season.
Nkansah is a medium height and for his position on the field of play, he has no height disadvantage. In fact players like him are the ones our premier league needs to attract spectators back to the stadia again.
Other players worth mentioning are Jacob Quartey, Eric Armah and Osman Abdulai.
Jacob Quartey is a natural goal scorer who is very hard working. He hardly plays 90 mins football without a goal and for some of his goals scored so far, you need a striker’s instinct to be able to score them. But for an injury to his shin during the pre- season, Accra Hearts of Oak would have signed him before the commencement of the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus league season which is in its 22nd week this weekend.
Osman Abudulai and Eric Armah are two players whose presence in the final third always causes fear and panic in opponents who come up against them. Osman is left footed and plays from the left flank but it is his final pass to the strikers which is his strong point where as Armah operates from the right frank and very strong at taking on defenders in one v one situations and on the run.
Beyond these afore-mentioned players, every single player who has been regular in the first team has been good and need mentioning.
There are equally good players in the reserve team who can handle the button should there be a mass exodus of the first team players come the end of the season. William Martey (left back), Emmanuel Kumah (left wing), Mohammed Bentil (offensive midfield), Joseph Nyarko (defender), Ibrahim Appiah (midfield), Prince Gamoh (striker), Gideon Dapaah (midfield) are all well capable to play the first team and excel come next season.
So you see, you could refer to the club as a factory of football talents and you will not be far from right because really and truly they discover talents at their youthful ages, nurture them and passed them on to bigger leagues. Players like Kwame Nsor (Metz FC, France), Richard Ofori (Academica, Portugal), Inusah Musah (Accra Hearts of Oak), Benjamin Tetteh (Standard Liege) in recent past, had been nurtured by this club and has moved on just like Eli Keke and his colleagues will soon do.
