The 2015/2016 season start date is yet to be determined making it difficult to properly plan the pre – season. That not withstanding the team is doing its best under a very difficult circumstance to ensure a successful off season activities.
The team which went on break after the 2014/2015 season resumed training on the 28th of January, 2015 and trained in preparation for three tournaments which had been arranged so scouts from Europe could scout for exceptional talents from this side of the world. The team was therefore involved in tournaments from the 23rd to 26th November 2015, 30th November, 2015 to 4th December 2015 and last but not the least from the 6th of December 2015 to the 11th of December 2015. Overall the boys were impressive and as many as 5 of them were able to attract attention from these agents. The agents have given their word to come back for them. Lets see if they are able to fulfill their promise.
The playing field of the club, that is the Military Academy and Training School park is currently being re-grassed ahead of the 2015/2016 season. We are told by the experts that it will take about eight weeks to get it in shape and ready for usage. The team’s on the pitch training was therefore shifted to a different venue still within the military vicinity until yesterday’s recess which is to enable the boys to go for Christmas and come back refreshed. Training will resume in the new year at a yet to be determined date
Player recruitment like shaving is done massively ahead of every season and so is player exiting from the club. In that regard, the team is very likely to lose Emmanuel Eli Keke, Ibrahim Tanko and Jacob Quartey to premiership clubs ahead of the 2015/2016 season. The club will in return beef up her squad with players like Benjamin Abaidoo from Sekondi Eleven Wise, Prince Adusei from Anokye Stars in Kumasi and Daniel Alhassan from a Second Division team in Nsawam.
