The beginning was tedious and complicated and sometimes a bit frustrating. For the doubting Thomas’s it was even a mistake by management to have brought on the English man whose footballing philosophy is similar to that of Pep Guardjola of Man City fame, i.e. playing from the back .

For boys who had been kicking and following like the way most Ghanaian clubs play without any precise format, it was always going to be difficult to get them to change and adjust overnight. This resulted in the team losing the first four games of the special competition put together by the Normalization committee of the Ghana Football Association and that compounded to the problems management had to deal with as a result of the change they had made regarding the technical direction. Coach James kept pleading with all to remain calm as he was very positive as to the direction he was taking the club.

It did not take more than a week for the team to start adapting and the evidence was there for all to see. Part of the evidence was that Kotoku Royals, a team which prior to meeting Tudu Mighty Jets FC had won all her matches both home and away were held to a pulsating two all draw right at their own backyard by these boys from Tudu which hitherto had been the whipping boys of the Zone and instead of these boys rejoicing for having been able to break the jinx surrounding this team from Akim Oda, they rather resorted to crying and weeping. I felt touched and humbled and in a way was motivated by the change in attitude and began hoping and believing that we were not far from a new dawn. After the said game, the boys from Tudu under the leadership of their new English coach have played three matches won two and drew one. In two of the three matches, the team played against Olympics and their football was so beautiful that the teaming fans who had thronged the venue to watch both matches could not do any other thing that to applaud the play of the Tudu boys for the entire duration of the two games.

Almost every member of the squad has improved and not only that but have also bonded so well with the remaining squad member. Coach Lames keep telling management that we have not seen nothing yet and that by the time he is fully done with his transformation of the team, we would become the toast of the fans where ever we go to play.

What else have we got to say than to hope that the supposed transformation is quickly done so we become the toast of fans where ever we go as we are being promised.
