In the end it was a comfortable win after 90mins of good football by the boys from Tudu against Abedi Pele’s FC Nania at the Teshie MATS Park.
The first half even though dominated by the Tudu boys, ended goalless.
The Tudu boys came back from recess more determined and started probing for goals as they never wanted the winner of the match to be determined via penalty shoot out, but it was not until the introduction of Frederick Akatuk as a replacement for Munkaila Awudu Abdullah a.k.a Kaka that the home team started registering their goals.
As earlier said, Akatuk came on to replace Kaka and in a matter of 7 minutes of his introduction , got himself involved in a one v one situation with the right back player of FC Nania which resulted in a penalty kick in favour of Frederick Akatuk.
The penalty was well taken by the captain of the side Issah Ali resulting in the first of the two goals for the Tudu boys on the day. The second goal scored by Michael Mensah Dua was a perfect header from close range after Enoch Sorgah who also came in to replace Dennis Dowuona had sent in an inch perfect cross.
Dennis Dowuona, the newly recruited play maker of the side who was making his debut appearance on the day was amazing in the middle of the park and was rightly praised by the head coach at the end of the 90 mins.
Tudu Mighty Jets utilized all 3 substitutions , the final one being Simon Afrane Manu for Alhassan Ibrahim in the 87th minute of the game.
By the win Tudu Mighty Jets FC has thus qualified to play in the round of 32 against a yet to be determined opponent in this year’s MTN FA Cup competition .
The Division one league resumes next weekend and Tudu Mighty Jets FC shall be up against Accra City Stars in the 4th week fixture of the 2019/2020 zone 3 Division One league.
